Wonder if someone can help an Eriba newbie with a bunk bed query.
We are the proud new owners of a troll 540gt 2005 and are looking to fit a removable bunk so our 7yr old can sleep upfront above his brother.
I've seen a link or two on the forum and been in contact with koolclassics. Unfortunately they are not making their bunk at the moment so I'm going to build something myself. I'm going to go for a pole and canvas approach that will allow me to remove the bed easily during the day and I've managed to source the brackets (photo below).

So the question is how and where to fit them? For neatness ideally I'd like to screw them directly into the wall however I'm not sure this is such a good idea? The last thing I want to do is drill holes in the wrong place!! Any views on where to drill and whether the frame is substantial enough to hold bunk bed brackets. I was thinking of buying one of those cavity wall detectors to find the frame? The other option is that I make a removable H frame out of wood and mount the brackets on that. Challenge with this will be making the frame fit the curvature of the walls.
Grateful for any thoughts / ideas / photos.

Hi Alex, if you use the 'search' button and look for 'bunk bed' you will find all the references to them on the forum.
As for fixing, the steel frame is the place to go for strength but it is only 20mm wide so the round pole fixings are not suitable.
A strong magnet will find the frame.
Hopefully, members with more useful help will reply.
