A new Swift van is featured in the C&CC magazine, designed!! for active campers.
I my other universe of Hashing I am known as Dave Snow, long story -but I am known for writing letters to pubs, clubs and establishments who don't meet the exacting standards we hashers expect.
So as is his want Dave Snow ventured into the caravan world yesterday and having written this to Swift copied it to the C&CC magazine so :-

Just seen your Basecamp van in the C&CC magazine and can only say what sort of design crew do you have on board.
Questions :-
1/ Why on earth place your graphics round a large and ugly black window on the side. The window is no doubt essential and needs to be black, but surely the graphics could have flowed above and below.
2/ What is the huge black rear light cluster and whatever else at the corners? Initially I thought it might be a fixing for a bike rack but no, you have a door there, so why the enormous ugly peculiar shape and size?
3/ No bike rack and I thought it was aimed at active people. So the bikes as Jamie Ramsay says " Chuck in the bikes"....where? Muddy and maybe several of them, where if they don't want to damage the interior designs.

These big white box people haven't clue.

The interior is specifically designed to transport bikes or a motorbike by tilting the beds up and there are cargo hooks in the floor for securing them.

As ,I think I mentioned before in another Post, The Swift Basecamp is a total crib of the older version of the Airstream Basecamp, which was, I believe constructed on a fibre class frame covered in aluminium panels !

The inside looks as badly designed as The Swift, supposedly so you can put your bikes in and totally rebuild inside if you want to 'live' in the trailer ! It also has a rear door and rear awning. Worth Googling if you're interested in some over priced bad design ! !

Production stopped a few years, now a newer version is on sale - all steel- and somewhat better in design I think. I am surprised that Swift have got away with a similar idea using the Airstream's name "Base Camp" ?
