Eriba Faun 1961

Hello Everyone,
After much thought i decided an Eriba would be good for me and my young family. (Me, Wife, 18 month old son) i figured the cost of purchase would be cheaper than buying holidays each year.
This summer I bought an Eriba Faun, 1961. It was originally a 4 birth (like the old picture I attached) but during its life the top bunk has been taken down. I guess this is so the bed can be used as sofa when not in use.
The van itself is in very good condition, and just needed a few bits doing to get it up together. I spent some time doing some minor restoration work, and we have managed to get away in it twice so far.
My winter job is to get the wheels off, and refurbed / painted back in the traditional magnolia/ cream colour. I also want to get a spare wheel.. But trying to find a 10inch 5 stud is proving hard !!
I also need to secure the gas box cover better as that's a bit wobbly for my liking.
Anyway hello everyone, and i look forward to being part of the fun.

Hi Stu and welcome to Eribafolk.
Wow, that looks fabulous. I bet you get a lot of looks and good comments. I think I'm correct in thinking you are the proud owner of the oldest van on this forum, to date
We don't have a Faun Gallery but I feel one coming on if you'd allow me to borrow some of the photos you've added to this thread. You could then perhaps add to it?

Hi Randa..
I must admit, its only been out twice, and both times it drew a few crowds at the site !! just a few of the memorable the comments i have had so far...
1. I love the old / new thing you have going on there.. with an old van, and a new powerful sporty BMW :) .. how fast have you towed it !?!?! :)
2. how many people are you planning on sleeping in that !?!?!
3. How much would you take for it (an old VW Beetle owner with a very expansive caravan)
4. Its in such good condition, and better than vans not even half its age !
5. its like a tardis :)
6. Is that awning Original (yes it is :) )
I would happily contribute to a faun gallery. please do take the pictures, I will also add more. From what I have found out so far, they are really rare.. and where not made in large numbers. the 4 birth was apparently really expensive in its day, and only a few are known to remain. I have the original bed bits so may put it back to 4 one day. I will just need to get a few missing parts made.

I've just found this on the interweb. http://www.flickriver.com/photos/scottmc...57601261488978/
Pan down (no Pun intended ) and look at the pic of the of the "kid's table". Isn't that gorgeous? In fact, in case the poster takes the link down then here's a copy of the pic for posterity.

Randa, I looked at that one on the link.. the one thing you will notice is that the 61 (mine) did not come with a handbrake.
I have to keep wooden chocks under the wheels :) like in my pic.. Proper retro ;)

This link to our friends on the French Forum is interesting Stu http://www.forumeribatouring.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1231 as it shows the bunk bed in situ.

Thanks for the pictures on the French link Randa, I think putting it back to a 4 birth will have to be on my list of things to do.
See you all in spring whoever is going :)
