Should I be concerned about this?

As I go through the van and look at what needs sorting I have found two issues and need advice.
They both relate to the roof, firstly when the roof it up, the canvas has a gap at the near side front corner which can be manipulated back over the roof moulding with a bit of effort but I should think leaving it like this will allow water to pass into the roof of the van?

Secondly, upon putting the roof up after driving the van home, the bracket that the roof securing clamp fits in in the same corner was loose, it appears that when the canvas was replaced, the screws were over tightened and have threaded as such, the clamp needs either moving along slightly or larger screws fitting?
Cheers for all the advice thus far as this is all new territory for me :)

Can't help you with how to fix the problems Gav but if you search "Poptop" or similar, there are a few recent threads on poptop replacement that should help.

What I am wondering however is whether the two problems are related. If the roof isn't secure in the area that the canvas is riding off its ledge then it could mean that the roof is "smiling" in that area when you are driving ie. the wind is getting under it.

I often check ours when driving by moving the electric wing mirrors of the car so that I have a view of the roof joint.

Hi Gav, the lifting at the corner is possibly because the canvas is'nt clamped. From memory when I did ours, there is a rubber strip in the bottom of a stitched hem on the canvas, on ours the rubber strip was square section and was clamped in place by aluminium strip inside the Eriba.

I mentioned this in another thread a few weeks ago concerning water ingress but that was put down to water bouncing off the roof😎

No doubt someone else will also come along with help😎
