We are looking to buy a Walker Touring Plus awning for our Eriba Familia 320. Having failed to buy a second hand one it looks like we are having to buy new. Should we buy now at this years price as we have been told that the prices may rise next year or would it be better to wait and visit the next Caravan show in February 2017 and buy it there ? We are considring buying one from Jeff Bowen Awnings
Thanks

We recently purchased a new Walker Touring Plus for our new Troll 542 van as a replacement for the same awning, but shorter in length obviously, for our previous Triton 430. Living in Germany we purchased directly from Walker in Holland and paid the 2016 price (with a haggling reduction of course) although we won't be using the awning until the 2017 season at which time prices will I am told, increase.
I don't suppose it is going to hurt if you wait for the Caravan Show as Bowen might have some old stock that they would be willing to let go at a reduced price, or even offer a reduction on any new stock for that matter. The awning will be exactly the same whether it was manufactured in 2016 or 2017, or even 2015 come to think of it as there has been no change to the model or accessories.
Oh, and in case you are wondering - yes we have been more than pleased with this awning hence another one as replacement. We sold the earlier awning recently via eBay and received a very good offer and were pleasantly surprised what people are prepared to pay for them even second hand.

Another thing to think about is how the drop in value of the UK pound will effect next years prices.

We have been on tour since 5th Sept and the weather hasn't been that good, at the moment in Crevillente Spain and for the last 2 days it has pimply sissed down, I am happy to say the Walker has stood up to beautifully with NO puddles on or sagging of the roof, really pleased with it.
