Taking Down a Website

Does anyone know how to go about reporting and taking down a website?

I had a request for help from one of our Facebook Members some months ago but for some reason the message only reached me this morning.

The member is rightly concerned with this:-http://www.eriba-uk.com/ Which for some reason has had some undesirable messages added to it.

As we all know, the company closed down about 6 years ago but this site isn't now a very good advertisement for the Eriba Brand.

Someone must be paying for the domain name?

It was designed by

http://www.freecom.net/

You could try contacting them.

I'm having a web chat with the site designers at the moment. Let's see if they can help.

They're looking in to who hosts it with a view to getting it taken down. I'll keep you posted.

The bloke I talked to at Freecom is going to e-mail the site's domain owners and ask them to take it down. He said he'd give me a bell and let me know what the score is. If he gets nowhere, he suggested that we try, though I can't think of any reason for us (or me, or whoever) to be able to do any better.

We'll see.

If any of our correspondents are in the Bahamas and fancy popping in for a word, the domain owners are this shower...
