Earlier today a fellow Eriba Owner on Facebook posted that AL had informed him that Eriba beading has to be 6mm.
Up until last year, I was for some reason, under the same impression. However, when looking to purchase a new Isabella Shadow Sun Shade while passing through Denmark, the salesman ensured me that it would fit our Eriba (and all other caravans) although the beading measured almost 8mm. He was correct.
It is an easy fit.
In view of all the recent discussion about awnings and shades leaking at the awning rail I thought it might be useful to know the diameter of the awning piping beading for the various makes and models.
I have measured the following:-
Clairval Classic Awning :- 7.5 mm.
Isabella Shadow Sun Shade :- 7.5mm
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frantone :-
Unico (Isabella) :- 8.0mm
Fiamma Caravanstore:- 7.0 to 7.5mm
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hob :-
AL Porch Awning :- 7.0mm
Caravanstore :- 7.0mm
Wigo Ultralight :- 7.5mm
Wigo Vario Sunshade :- 7.5mm
As Hob has suggested, it is almost impossible to purchase anything other than 6mm beading off the shelf but it does stand to reason that the smaller the diameter of the bead then the more likely it will be for water to pass around it.

Yes a search on ebay showed 7 adverts of those 6 were 6mm and one described as 7\8 mm
ebay search
and this seller has both sizes

In the past I used 6mm to make window shades and to do a home made sunshade neither of which are likely to leak as both go in a position where rain runs off.

I've just measured our two awnings and found that the Soplair 'Bourgogne' has the circular beading sewn into the fabric at its ends while the Wigo 'Vision' canopy's beading is free to creep out of the fabric.
Soplair 'Bourgogne' - 8mm (estimated as beading not exposed)
Wigo 'Vision' - 6mm
I see from the eBay links that Keder strip comes with an integral core. Is it possible to buy the core separately?

Brian is that the plastic core or the cloth as well? I measured mine including the cloth covering as it all goes in the rail ....... all my sizes were measured about six inches in from an end.
