Car nuts or not, you'll love this place at Nora Batty's place - Holmfirth. We were taken there for breakfast yesterday it was amazing, mind blowing, awesome and that was just sitting in there have a full English for about 7/8 quid. Proper cups and teapots, waited service. great food. Loads of restoration cars , vintage shops and not stocking tat, real good stuff as our friend's wife is a regular, loads of high end vehicles visiting, Maserati, RR, TVR, performance vehicles, bikers. A stunning start to our week up north.

Then we went on into town as it happened to be Holmfirth Folk Festival and stayed all day drinking, catching bands, mummers, Border Morris groups. really unusual music, a 25 piece ceilidh band occupying most of a pub, Carole and I visited Sid's Cafe, the town was buzzing.

Now on C&CC site for 3 nights, at Barnard Castle. Had a walk into town then the bus back. Flies breeding everywhere!++

Bump! Considering there are quite a few car buffs in here, I am surprised there has been no reaction to my original post.
Maybe I'm wrong, quite usual, or being shunned.

Maybe if you'd done us one of your by now legendary oil paintings, Derek?

PS and why no comment by you on our visit to Barny near Darlo? It's a pity our visits didn't coincide. We can only have missed each other by a couple of days.

I needed you two at Barny a week earlier when I locked myself out of my van at the CC camp just down the road... we could have topped and tailed..
