Cernay.

Today, we visited the site of the old Eriba Touring factory at Cernay. Sadly no more. However, two ex-employees set up in a large unit on the site and according to Eriba BinBin (Forum Eriba), bought up a lot of the exisiting stock.

Many of you have already seen this video but for our newer members :- Last Days at Cernay.

They are now called "Ateliers de Vehicules de Loisirs" (16, Avenue d' Alsace) and are only about 1 mile from the campsite. They had many vehicles in for repair so it was nice to see them doing so well.

We have decided that our car looks better with our purple stripe on the back

Great video Randa, hadn't seen that before. What reasons were given for closing the factory in Cernay and moving the manufacturing to Bad Waldsee? Purely financial?

I'm not quite sure Tony. Partly political, partly production difficulties I'm guessing.

The move to the Bad Waldsee factory is only an hour away and it coincided with the discontinuation of the Puck and Puck L.

Someone might know the truth.

My dealer (same person referred to in an earlier post) stated that the production quality wasn't up to the standard expected although to be honest, looking at the quality of build, compared to price, of our last two vans, I'm left scratching my head a bit on that one.

I believe another reason was manufacturing costs. I did hear that the factory was running at a loss in the millions of euros.

A real shame, especially for all the employees who lost their jobs.
