Hello Everyone

Wife and I have just bought our first caravan, Eriba Troll 530 GT 2017 from Jandi in Scotland. We have just converted from camping as I am sure most of you have, and we are trying to find our feet prior to our first adventure with our 7 year old daughter. Never towed before, never set up a caravan before and need some friendly advice from those in the know. hope to see some of you in the future, it seems us Eriba folk are quite the club !!

Hi, us too! We're waiting for our new Troll, delivery due sometime in September. Only camped before, never towed anything, not even a small trailer!! In at the deep end eh? Ah well, what could possibly go wrong?

Anyway, a very warm ...!

towing is always a daunting prospect for the first time, however if you carry out all the required preparations and safety checks it will give you the extra bit of confidence to help you tow. The Eriba tow like a dream and as soon as you get under way most of the anxiety will disappear. Have a look at this link it will give you some tips....

We used to camp and started with our van last year. You won't look back! Wonderful.

Both the Caravan and Motorhome Club and the Camping and Caravan Club run one or two day courses designed to introduce you towing, reversing, loading your van and pitching up. In general terms it shows you how to keep you and your van safe.

Highly recommended if you feel you want to learn and practice in a safe environment.

. We came from a tent, never towed, worried, didn't need to. Eribas are good to tow so long as you get your loading correct.
Enjoy.

Welcome Betsy 530. We were in your position last August when we collected out Troll. Kath and I did the Caravan Club course that they held near Preston. It was great fun and gave us a bit more confidence. I won't pretend that driving off with it in rush hour from AL in Poole for the first time didn't get my heart beating faster.

Have now done five trips and as everyone says the Eriba is a dream to tow. Even took it through all the road works on the motorways near Glasgow on a trip to Edinburgh. Just take your time and you will get there. In fact my wife says that I am a much better driver towing than I am without the van. Perhaps one thing I learnt early on was to be a bit careful pulling out in front of cars on fast roads, as it takes a while to get up to speed.

Just go for it we are sure that you will love it as much as the rest of us do.

MikeT.
