Has anyone on the forum seen this problem before? Whilst traveling to our camp site on our holiday we were flagged down by a fellow caravanner only to find the roof had popped and the canvas was nowhere in sight. I opened the van to find everything inside looked quite normal, except that the roof hooks were loose. I believe that the extreme temperatures that we have recently seen had softened / weakened the glue and combined with the airflow, spring tension and vibration the fibreglass at the front and rear gave way allowing the spring tension to overcome gravity and pop the fibreglass top.
The two parts have now been reacquainted with the aid of 8 M6 screws, penny washers and silicone sealant. Has anybody else had this problem before and if they did, what was done to fix it.
Incidentally, we managed to achieve our destination with the roof strapped down with the 4 long luggage straps that I always keep in the car.

Paul
