Help please - do we need to buy levellers for a Puck?

Hi, we're newbies fresh from tent camping, about to embark on our first adventure with our tiny but perfectly formed Puck! We've been told we'll need to buy levelling blocks, but not seen anyone else with a Puck using them? Just wondering if anyone else with a Puck uses them and finds them useful, or whether not to bother?! Any advice and words of wisdom from experienced Puckers on this matter very much appreciated 😀. Thanks

You can level from front to back by raising or lowering the jockey wheel before lowering the steadies, levelling side to side depends on how level the site is and the only way to correct for that is a block under one or other wheel that is the correct thickness.

Most sites are fairly level these days and if you don't mind a bit of slope in the van now and again ....... probably not worth getting and carting around with you, I have got a pair of plastic ramps but don't recall ever using them.

Having 4 wood blocks about 2 inches thick are useful as they save lowering the steadies quite as far and sometimes need both pairs either at back or front if site slopes from front to back.

I have used them with my previous Puck, I used to keep them in the gas box as I put in a wire floor so that I could carry light objects in there. The only thing to bear in mind with a puck is that the vast majority will not have a mover so it will have to be hitched up to the car and pulled up the ramp, to do it by hand is nearly impossible unless your built like Geoff Capes. To be honest I didn't use them as often as I do with my current Familia which has a mover so there is no dramas. I think because the Puck has such a small footprint it isn't impacted the same as its larger brothers. I would say see how you get on without one first, like Hob says most sites are fairly level especially on hardstanding. If your going off grid and wild camping such as events then that could require a ramp.

Having come from motorhoming we do carry one levelling block which we have used a few times. As has already been said try first and see how you get on.

Weird, I thought I'd answered this earlier today and now it's not there. Nuff said already

We have a Triton and don't bother.

Most sites are level, even in the Triton we didn't often bother, just swap bed ends, heads always uphill.

We are always careful with levelling, only because the GAS fridge needs to be level, if used, so we always level regardless, by the wheel ramps and jockey wheel method.
