Hello - properly this time

Although we joined your forum in March we only took delivery of our Troll 530 GT two weeks ago. In the meantime our Transit Tourneo was stolen from in front of our house. We had just had a towbar fitted and so lost this, roof bars and roof box, solar panels, cycle rack and Ultrabox 360, webasto heater, 2 leisure batteries and assorted other items.

The good news is that we had removed the 9 wooden boxes which make up the storage and the base of a king-size bed. The thieves did not get the two rows of rear passenger seats as they are still in our garage.

We are determined that this will not deter us from enjoying our (new to us) Troll and we've already replaced the Tourneo and had a tow -bar fitted yesterday. We've managed to fathom out the Truma heater and even the water system - despite the previous owner labeling the pump switch the wrong way round!

The telescopic bollard, Hykeee lock, pedal box should also make it more difficult if the scallies should return especially as the tow-hitch on the Troll is locked and bolted to the front wall of the house.

We've already had some very good advice from members but I hope that you'll be able to answer a myriad of questions as we are new to caravanning.

Best wishes to you all - Spike

Bad news about the tow car. Have you replaced it with another Tourneo?

Yes. The Troll will live in Portugal - we usually spend several weeks getting there and use the Tourneo (with the seats taken out) as a campervan.
When in the UK - the seats go back in. It's a very versatile vehicle - but the new Transit Custom Tourneo is a bit smaller so we replaced the stolen 2010 plate with one of the last old style ones - a 2012. Cheers. Spike

There's been a lot of misfortune to forum members of late and we are very sorry to hear of this new addition.

I suppose the car is the easiest to put up with if that's any consolation.
Good luck.
