Have noticed this at several French sites recently but they have been situated outside of the main campsite boundary and are for the use of mobile homes on overnight stays and not requiring full campsite facilities. Seems pretty fair to me.

That's crazy if it's on a campsite - people will just flush it down the loo! I do think that campervans should pay - they avoid paying all sorts of tourist taxes that the rest of us pay at the campsites. They get endless facilities for free, cause havoc in small towns, they're ugly!...... grrrrr!

These new fandangled toilet cassette cleaners made an appearance a few years ago on the caravan channel or caravan finder tv. Not only did it clean your cassette for you, but it also added the chem and may possibly have cleaned/lubed the seals (if I remember correctly). Overkill and not sure I would want a pitch next to one. I'm not sure they will catch on......

Seems like a new idea to part people from their holiday money, Our council put a charge on people taking their rubbish to the council tip, now they can't understand why fly tipping has increased and is costing the council an arm and a a leg to clear it up. Likewise if this is the way forward with emptying the loo then it won't only be dog mess that we will have to contend with in our wide open spaces. Already there have been reports of motorhome owners emptying there loo's down road drains. We did notice that in Italy on the motorways. motorhomes could empty the loo for free at garages and get ride of waste water.
