Apart from all the cushions pillows and duvets, we are looking for any advice as to what to put underneath the bottom sheet to take out any bumps where the cushions join... Foam? Soft or hard? Mattress topper? Any ideas welcomed please

Matress topper, IKEA or similar. 2" best but 1"will help. Avoid memory foam as it can be very warm.

Hi WiilandZoe
We had a similar problem with our Troll and bought two single Duvalay Gold Mattress toppers. We got singles as we could fold them away easier than a double when not using them.We use them to make the 540 into a large double.and sleep across the van.

They have been great and have changed how well we sleep. They don't seem to get hot when the weather is stiffling. The only thing is that they are not cheap but we hope to use them for a long time. MikeT

Hi WillandZoe, We recently picked up a 2'' matress topper at a caravan show and decided to use it on our first trip out in our new Troll. We don't have a fixed double so where thinking this would iron out any lumps and bumps. Fantastic sleep, really comfortable and as good as our bed at home. Really simple but effective solution. Good luck

Depends on whether you make up the bed then break it down every day, if not then why not convert it to a double bed with a one piece foam mattress, much more comfortable.

We bought our Duvalay Gold 2'' mattress toppers at the NEC caravan show where they were on a special offer. We also use two singles, with zip on sheets, and put them on top of the cushions, our bed is up all the time, we can eat at the dinette in our Troll 530gt, if we want to eat inside, but most of the time we eat outside. The only faff is getting into the storage under the seats when the beds are up.However the bed with the toppers is very comfy, never have any compliants. I am 5'10" and can stretch out fully across the width of the van.

Which size fitted sheet really fits the Troll 550 GT (2004), please. Do I need a double with very deep sides, as we also have 2 singe mattress toppers. I really would appreciate an answer. Thank you

We put a single quilt down on the cushions, then instead of a sheet which is a pain to tuck in, I use a boutis (like a wholecloth quilt) as a bottom sheet, then our duvet.

The double duvet is a good option if using double bed. We have a 13,5 tog, 10.5 tog and 4,5 tog which depending on time of year one on bottom (like a topper) and one on top. To store we have a 12v pump and use vacuum bags. Fold duvets into bags, vac down reduces storage footprint

So... We took the leap and invested in a 2inch snugmatress... WOWZERS!!! Unbelievably comfy, massive difference we slept so well and didn't feel the cushion joins at all. Thankyou for all the advice...money well spent, well that's what the poochie thought too!!
