Window seals

I need to replace the perished grey rubber seal on a none opening side window on my 1996 Puck L. I have seen a recommendation for sealsdirect.co.uk on here, but am unsure which size to order, as I don't want to remove the old seal to measure the window and panel thickness until I have the new seal and am ready to do the job?? I've had a price from Jandi, but it's over £100, which seems rather steep to me.

Many thanks
Julian

if it is from Jandi it will be a genuine Hymer window seal continuous with a vulcanized joint, if you buy it from Seals direct it will have to be cut to size with a joint. If you do buy it from seals direct remember to put the joint at the top otherwise condensation will gather at the bottom and drop down the inside the van..

When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!

I was extremely lucky and had a reply which led me to a spare set (three bits of rubber) which I have snapped up. Jandi were very helpful but informed me that Eriba/Hymer have not made the mouldings for MY van for many years 'cos the former that was used to extrude the moulding broke and it was not considered worth the expense to repair it. Bearing in mind that my van is twenty years older than yours, the seals are likely to differ in profile - it may well be worth trying Seals Direct - but be warned that the price that you were quoted by Jandi is not unreasonable (try getting a quote for getting some made)!!! Regards, Dave
