New to caravanning, we did our first foreign trip last September. 4 weeks in France & Italy. We used our ACSI card at every site and thought the service was great although as newbies I'm not sure we would have realised it if we had been taken advantage of at some sites.
All in all, we'll be using ACSI on our next trip. This time in our new to us Triton 420.

Yes, we have had an ACSI card for years, and it has been very good value, although there have been occasions when we feel we have not had the best sites. We live in France, and most of our holidays are taken in France.
We have found most ACSI sites have freedom of choice. However this September on site near Lake Garda only 3 ACSI pitches were available (all fairly small). A number of non ACSI pitches were available.
Tourist taxes in Austria can add significantly to the ACSI Rate.
Beware that although a site is ACSI inspected it does not guarantee it does ACSI discounted rates.
Generally ACSI has saved us loads and the App is super easy to use and will directly link with Here We Go navigation which is a free sat nav app.

Just tried the camping navigator, searching for some of our favourite sites and they're not listed. I think you're more likely to find your ideal site using the internet. Unless you like those huge sites.....not our tasse de thé .

When at home and searching for the availability of campsites in a specific area this is always my first port of call http://www.archiescampings.eu/ . Any number of formats are available for FREE download and I myself make use of this in Garmins free software - Basecamp - along with the app available for both Android and iOS Smartphones for a small price.

In addition to our ACSI book we always take the Caravan Club Overseas Touring book France, which we have had for a few years now probably ready for the new edition, as an alternative source of campsites
