eriba suspension

I have a 2017 430 with a 1200kg axle. I have crawled underneath to check and the axle is plated at 1200kg.
I weigh everything and keep a list of weights. Battery, mover, usual stuff and the small print owners miss of extras that they assume are normally included, eg anti-snake hitch, sprung upholstery etc. I do really mean everything.
I have loaded the van up on the drive prior winter storage and noticed before [1080kg] loading and after [1160kg] how little clearance I appeared to have between tyre rubber and rubber trim inside the wheel arch. Not being very technical it is little more than a fingers width.
The van is now on axle stands and the clearance has increased to about 2 1/2 finger widths. This does not seem a lot to me.

Anybody else noticed such a small clearance?

Colin

I've also thought how tight the clearance appears to be (430 and now 542) although it must be sufficient due to the fact that I've never noticed any damage or scuffing etc to the inner surface of the wheel arch and/or the wheel arch itself. It's only my personal opinion of course but I believe that stability is increased by a combination of (a) the fitting of a not too bouncy suspension strut and (b) the tougher flanks of the van rated tyres.
