Aldi caravan stuff
Been to Aldi and bought caravan cleaner and also noticed they have universal covers for £70 . Not able to afford a fitted cover yet but would like to cover it when parked up to save bird poo etc so do you think the £70 would be a good buy? Just for short term until I can get something like a Protec fitted cover.

Hi
If the cover is breathable go for it, our £70 generic cover is now on it's 6th winter (not a great deal of sun degradation in the Peak District) and it's looks ok for at least another winter. It's not as tidy to look at as a fitted cover but it's big enough to cover the tyres and tow hitch and to enable us to pop the roof up on occasion . You can take up the slack by the application of clever tucks and bungees. Get a grey one if you have the choice we think they last better than the green ones.

Thanks for the helpful replies. I have bought the caravan cleaner so back there tomorrow to pick up the cover. All I need now is the caravan! Due to collect in May. Next is the hitch lick and wheel clamp.

Hi Randa I have bought from Dom fox so have to travel 5 to 6 hours to collect. Thinking of doing a course for towing before collecting. I went today and picked up a genetic cover in Aldi. So I can cover it over.

I did have a 1 hour towing class when I went to the nec last year and found that I didn't have any problems, but the course I wanted to get on is full and the only other place is mid May and over an hour to travel to for the two days class. I have driven minibus and cans so just wonder if it's worth the £150 odd pounds for the course.

I'm not going to commit to saying yes or no Taffy but the majority of folk just get on with it. It obviously depends a lot on your tow vehicle but the Eriba is such a dream to tow, you'll soon get the hang of it.
Obviously, most people worry about reversing but it doesn't get any better no matter how much towing experience you've had. Just try not to get yourself into a situation where you may have to reverse, especially in your first 100 years of towing

Lol I was told to go to a big empty car park and practice!!! My car is no problem as it's an automatic 2.0 cmax. The chap sitting with me at the nec said that I should have no problem with an eriba as I was doing ok with a big white box. Just observed the slightly wider turns and positions. Will have to give some thought before I go and spend a decent sum that could go to something nice for my new baby. Can't wait.
My first trip will be getting back to wales from norfolk. But I think I will not go to far away at first and try the old oaks in Wells for a weekend as dogs feature a big part in where I will stay at sites pet friendly without the two dog limit as I have three and the oaks site looks fantastic.
