missed the last half hour, switched over to pick (on free view) watched star trek instead, they released some new to us episodes..
like watching the winter sports as the ice gives an extra degree of skill.
what time does the first event start?

Why the world can even think of supporting an event like this with Russia's record on human rights, equality, etc. beats me.

If it were to expend as much energy and money on putting their own house in order, rather than waste it on this sort of maddening extravaganza - and believe that that was the absolute right thing to do - then maybe, just maybe, other countries would at least begin to sit up and take notice at the
wonderful example that this 'major super-power' was showing.

Or I am I simply showing my naivety - again?

everyone can choose to watch or not, was merely saying it was on, if like me wasn't aware when.

I enjoyed the Canadian Olympics and possibly will enjoy watching this winter Olympics
these athletes have put in hours of work to become the best of the best, and if I choose to celebrate their achievements, and take a rapid intake of breath when incident happen, so be it.
there was a film cool runnings made about the bob sled team perhaps you have seen it?.

also enjoyed the night of British well Scottish ladies curling and stayed up late to see the out come of gold, found the vt interesting that showed where the curling stones were sourced, before that week hadn't even heard of curling..
learnt a lot about Canada from the various v.t...

I have put in years of practice at being pretty good at what I do, but I would not play in Russia. And, if asked 'why not', I would tell them.

That's all I'm saying.
