Last Thursday, this so-called IT savvy (hah hah) old git took a phone call. It was extremely plausible and led me a horrid dance lasting through Friday as of course it purported to be from Microsoft. The pooter has had to be re-formatted which started late Friday and we got it back yesterday afternoon, minus loads of data. Still trying to rebuild what we had but much lost forever.
I am sure the warning has been made to all of you, but honestly the chap waas so convincing, like a sucker that I am, it was believed. Luckily we haven't lost any money, but very nearly did.
Be careful out there as the desk seargent in that NY police series said every day.

I'm sorry to hear that. Can I make a suggestion, go to *all* the accounts you have - email, banks, Facebook, wherever - even eribafolk - and change your passwords. I'm sure you have done that already but just in case...
