Eriba Puck L 225 and 230
Hi Guys,
Please excuse my ignorance but what's the difference between 225 and a 230. Also I'm aware there are two ratings for the Puck L mass running weight (790 and 840) what is the difference in terms of their construction - e.g. does the latter have additional struts in the frame work? - just interested and curious. The 230 is a later incarnation, the 225 has an end kitchen the 230 a mid area kitchen
The 850kg. is an axle rating so the actual load bearing of the axle is increased.
I had a Puck L 230GT 850kg.so the payload was greater, both are (in my opinion)
the best of the Eribas.

Thank you. I remember seeing this layout in another Puck but didn't realise this meant it was a 225 - now I do. The difference in axel rating is interesting, do I assume the 850 rating means the axel and/or wheel bearings are more substantial? and (sorry to keep asking questions) why did Eriba provide two load capacities and not just stick to the higher one?

You are correct in saying that the 230 is a later incarnation.
The 230 model has a redesigned kitchen, also end fitted.
The gas locker plus the lighting inside and out were also changed
230 took over in 2005 until the end of production.
Other than that apart from the upgraded axle which all 230's don't have
they are about the same, just a bit more modern looking.

Probably the lighter axle was suitable for the main euro market but
the UK market wanted more load capacity so it was offered as an
option by dealers. Mine came from Mark at Lechlade and had a full
Diamond pack. This added more weight which came off the already
meagre payload, but the heavier axle took care of this.

Hi there ,
I know this post was 5 years ago (!) but I’m trying to find out
The payload of my 2007 puck L 230GT. The label by the door with the vin number on says
850kg, but it doesn’t say what this is and no clues in the manual !!
Hope someone can answer !!

According to the 2007 brochure I've attached your empty van should weigh 650kg, but you need to add a fair few bit onto this to get the real empty weight.
If you look at page 139 of the attached 2007 manual you should be able to work out what your real empty weight is.
Count yourself lucky your van has the optioanl axle upgrade.

Colin thank you so much !!! I bought the caravan from an elderly relative
And can’t ask her these questions . I was over the moon to see 850kg this morning
as I knew that must mean I had a higher payload . Will check it out now, thank you !!!

Like I’ve got a payload of 200!!! Phenomenal !! I’ll go to weigh load place and check what my weight with all
The basics are then I’ll know my max .
Many thanks - I have the manual but it says nothing about weights that I can find
