Old "New" Tyres

Hi all

Time to replace the tyres again on Marmite the current ones have done some sterling service for us over the last seven years. So contact our tyre man who advises that the size we require is in short supply at the moment he's ordered a pair for us and will check the dates on them when he gets them. If, as he suspects they are already 12-24 months old, he will send them back and order some direct from the manufacturer which will probably take a couple of months for us to get them but at least they will be new new tyres and we will get a full seven years out of them.

So if you are replacing tyres ready for the onset of Spring make sure they are really new get the tyre fitter to check the dates on them so that you get the best value for your money

I used e-tyres when I replaced the tyres on my previous van, a Famila. He guided me away from a very good deal on some Avons if I recall correctly, as they had been on the shelf for 2 years. Excellent service and lots of options. They came out at pennies more expensive than the cheapest normal dealer I could find, that would have meant me taking the tyres to them, or the van.

New new tyres sourced and fitted, service done, new gas pipes and we're ready to roll - yippee

Now where to go? A favourite was always the Derbyshire Dales, but now we're living in the middle of them it's like being on a permanent holiday so we think it may be York next month for a few days.
