Thanks v much for the greetings, I'm sorry about the over exuberance, I couldn't see any visible reaction so I clicked several times and as the forum was running at mover speed I repeated the posts. Too used to being a Mod on Caravan Talk where I could delete such duplications.

I s'pose that France character is down some South Wales sump hole with his lump hammer trying to beat some speed into the forum.

That, my friend, is a Bailey Pegasus Series 2 Rimini 4 berth fixed single beds van with rear bathroom. It has an oven, a microwave, 4 burner hob, boiler as standard, a separate shower you can bend over inside, a door frame and roof you can't crack your head on, in short a white wobbly box and it's big, fat and ugly. It's yours for around £11,000 English (or Welsh) pinds.

For he last two years it's been stored on a site on the side of the Clee hills, above Ludlow. As I no longer towed it I disposed of the, very expensive, V70 and got a 1.2DSG Yeti instead. Trouble is, at the last service, in November, my mobile guy found a tiny area of damp. No sweat as it is still under Bailey's 10 year warranty. But I had to hire a towcar, which are fairly rare and costly. That got the van back to our local dealer and the leak was fixed in about a month, over Christmas.

It's now back on our drive and as I was fixing to sell anyway I'm not intending to send it back to Clee.

My initial thoughts were to pass the Yeti to Mrs SDA and buy another campervan. Research led me to the Leisuredrive Vivante, in long wheelbase form. It had the required toilet (no shower) and floor space behind the front seats for folding canvas dog crates. Unlike other similar converters LD move their rear seats backwards on LWB versions, giving more lounge floor space. The others keep the seats in the same position as the SWB and fill the extra 16 inches with extra furniture, but that leaves no room for dog crates.

Trouble is Mrs SDA is insisting on an automatic and LWB auto Vivantes are rarer than Pontos in Uzbekistan. A new one is an eye watering £57,000, so we're looking at Plan B.

Maybe a caravan that we can pull with the Yeti, one within its 1200kg towing limit. Get my drift...

Still got a pair of them, though Jack is now 12 and has something wrong with him that the vet can't identify. He's been like a walking skeleton for the last few years and lost all muscle tone. It's disguised by his beardie coat but even that is getting thin now. He eats like a horse but his system just won't use the nourishment. He's a bit doddery but very happy, though the steroids he's on make him ravenous.

On the other hand our brown girl Pippin is just 3 years old and as mad as the proverbial container of frogs.

Nice to have you (nearly) back in the fold. Haven't seen you since that very windy weekend in Wales - soup anyone!
