A timber wedge against the kerb is probably the best thing, though any kind of improvised ramp will do - a split log, a couple of scraps of wood or a suitably-sized stone or two.
You can always help by taking some of the weight of the hitch end yourself as it negotiates the kerb's rise, but unless you're used to deadlifting 70 kilos it's an ideal opportunity to put your back out.
The van won't balance on two wheels. Well, that's not quite true. It will if you put 70 kilos of gold bullion right at the back...

Andrew,
as well as wheel chocks I carry a short levelling ramp, a lighter duty version of what motorhome owners use. This is good for getting the van level across the axle, gives a bit more lift or stability on soft ground for a corner steady and would be useful for the situation you have.

With any ramp you have to be careful that the back isn't angled such that it might leave a gap between ramp and kerb. If there is a gap you can bet that sometime a wheel will drop in it and push the ramp rearwards whilst the wheel thumps to the floor and you have to reposition and try again. Learned the hard way.

I remember when i first got my Familia and put on a motor mover. I approached my drive which has a slight slope at 90 degrees. As the back wheels touched the kerb it reared up like a baby elephant, waving its nose (hitch) at my neighbour who was stood at the fence watching.. I now approach it at an angle...
When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!
