Hi All,
We are looking for a Troll 540 with a budget of around 15-16k. Are there any quirks we should be aware of? Automotive leisure indicated that a 540 is going to be hard to come by as they are so popular.. fingers crossed..

firstly welcome. The 540 has no specific quirks. As regards hard to come across, well that depends if you are after a specific year/spec in any eriba. I am guessing you say a 540 as you require two long seperate beds. If this is the case then it's the one for you. If you simply require a long bed then you should also consider any of the 55 series Trolls. This will open up your choice of vans available considerably as they have 2.0m beds at the rear and front dining areas that will squeeze 4 I believe.

We're after a 540 too, having had 2001 and 2005 versions in the past.

As Colin says there are no specific quirks and you can get two different lounge layouts but a fixed double bed isn't an option.

Be careful when looking at specs because even AL have been known to leave out items of equipment and/or get weights wrong.

Thanks for your comments, v helpful. I don't really like the idea of sleeping along the width of the van, hence v keen on the 540!

£8K looks pretty steep for a '97 private sale and 1300kg looks like a very high MTPLM for that year.
