I have just ordered a towbar from Skoda for my Karoq as no other towbar manufacturer makes one as yet. While placing the order I was asked if I had a heated steering wheel as if I did a towbar could not be fitted. The dealer had no idea why this should be and as I did not specify a heated steering wheel I am OK. Just a word of warning to prospective Karoq owners.

According to the forums it doesn't affect cars with factory fit towbars and heated steering but it does if the towbar is fitted later. Can't quite understand why that should be unless it's the way the Canbus is programmed, though you'd think there'd be a way to download a different program.. It's also not clear whether this just applies to the electrical folding towbar or any other, like a manual detachable or fixed bar.

It may even be that it's a glitch in the website configurator that dealers have taken as meaning you can't do it, when in reality you can. j

I saw the internal memo from Skoda to the dealers and it was highlighted in red.
