We have just had our Troll over to JohnE for some work. When we bought it last year there was no signs of water ingress. After a very wet 6 weeks in Scotland some staining appeared around the front windows. The van was then covered until it went to John at the beginning of March. He identified a couple of areas that had failed and removed all of the awning rail, re masticed and refitted. He identified a problem with the mover and replaced bearings (which had to come from Germany). He also did some other little jobs which Neil could have done if he ever had the time (fitted LEDs, sorting out bathroom door and overhead locker hinges). He kept the van at his house, keeping us informed as to the progress of work and charged us what I think was a very reasonable price for the work done.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending John to anyone with Eriba problems. Our Troll will be going back next year for a service and to have a charging system installed. Being an import via Holland there isn't a charger installed.
The only downside is he could live a bit nearer but hey ho.
A really nice chap, it was a pleasure to meet him and his wife Marie.

Hi Julie
He sounds like a good chap to know, if you don't mind me asking where does he live? I don't need anything at the moment ( he says hopefully ) but would be handy to know if he is within striking distance.
The other thing you mentioned regards not having a charging system, is this the case with Dutch vans as I believe ours is originally from over there.
We've just changed from a Motorhome and I assumed that the leisure battery would charge on EHU in a similar manner, does it mean that you have to independently charge it with a battery charger when you have an available electric supply or am I reading it wrongly.

We had a very enjoyable short break at the C&CC Wirral Country Park site when we took our Triton to John for a service.

It's a lovely area to visit.

Hi Jez,
I'm not an expert at all but John explained our set up. Our van didn't have a battery, presumably all Dutch owners must use sites with EHU. When we bought our van it had a battery which had been fitted solely for the motormover. John tells us the battery charges from the car but does not charge from EHU. Our previous two Eribas had the BIP system so we never had to worry about battery charge. As we may have to use our mover each time we pitch up we are taking our smart charger with us to keep the battery topped up.
Next year John will install a proper charging system so then the battery will charge whilst we are on EHU.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Julie - I really appreciate you taking the time to post your comments.

Also, many thanks for the additional comments by folk I've had the pleasure to help in the past, and others who I hope to meet in the future.

I always prefer to work on Eribas - after all, they are owned by the bestest and nicest caravanners
