Damp patch floor level in cupboard

I have just noticed a damp patch in kitchen cupboard around floor level and about 3 inches up the side. It is a 1993 Familia with kitchen at the front. The damp patch it located on the side next to the fridge. The wall board in this area has become soft. Any ideas where water can be coming from?

Condensation from the fridge evaporator, or just condensation the void
Can you take the fridge vent off to access the void and feel around a bit? I know it's not so easy on the older vans.
Could be the join around the fridge vent cover
Could also be the front window seals
Could be leaking join on the tap - you did drain down properly before winter - didn't you?
Could be leak in the drain from the basin.

If this has happened while the van is just standing then it probably won't be the basin drain

Could even be rain blowing in through gas locker

It's either your water, Gods water or the fridge. You've got to look at it analytically. Put dry kitchen roll down and check regularly to see if it picks up anything.

Some pictures of the damp patch and the corresponding area on the outside of the van would make it easier for us to help you otherwise we can only generalise.

It's not the sink but it could be condensation from the fridge. I will be getting someone to check it out for me. Thanks

I like the idea of the kitchen roll. I will be going away next week. The forecast is for dry weather so this should rule out rain. I will not use he sink but the fridge will be on. Thanks

I think I may have solved the damp issue in my cupboard next to the fridge. I have never had a cover on the fridge vent. I did not know about them until I had this damp patch. The van had been parked outside in wet windy conditions before I noticed the damp. I have now bought and fitted the cover (which I will remove when the fridge is in use). I will keep my finger crossed. Thanks for all the replies to my original post.

Just a quick thought on this option.

If the weather is dry as it is this week - leave the cover off. If there is damp behind the fridge or any area that can be ventilated by the fridge vent then reducing ventilation now would only hinder the drying out process.

I'd even go so far as to suggest that you plug in the mains lead and run the fridge up to generate some heat in the void - again to assist drying out.

You could also put a fan pointing at the bottom vent to blow air through the cavity as well.
