Ground Anchor.

Have just invested the princely sum of £7.50 on one of these. We actually bought ours from Amazon but they are now out of stock. Having looked at several types last year in a French Superstore we didn't purchase one as they all looked a bit flimsy but this one looks a mean bit of kit. Obviously metal would be the way to go but they can be a bit pricey.

I've taken a photo of it alongside a wrist watch for scale. The grey handles fold away once the spike is in situ.
We wanted the spike for a parasol or possibly a flag pole or rotary washing line. We've not tried it out yet so will reserve judgement.

You'd have had to have bought forty-six quid's worth of other stuff because of the minimum order restriction, but it's still four quid, innit
