240V Switch with indicator light.

The supplying dealer fitted a Truma mains electric boiler in one of the rear seatboxes of the Innovation. He fitted an isolation switch on the outside of the seatbox. Two issues:

One is that it has no indicator light and I've already left it switched on several times when I'd prefer it to be off.

Two is that it's a very cheap looking switch box that doesn't match the other CBE switches and sockets in the van.

I've tried Googling but can only find 12V switches with LED indicator and they have a note saying use with mains power might cause the LED to malfunction.

Can anyone suggest a source of supply, even if it doesn't match CBE perfectly?

Would one with a neon indicator do the job, Andy?

It must be the sun. It's not a Truma boiler at all, it's a Propex. Presumably the Truma switch would work just as well on a Propex John and that green light does show up well. And yes, a neon would do fine Brian.

The Truma Therme is rated at 300W, the Propex is 900W - I don't know what the Truma switch rating is and it may not be man-enough for the job.

If you give Truma a call, they may have the answer.

Don't tell them I sent you

Firstly congratulations on having an electric Propex heater. If it's the same as I fitted on my last van it is 900w as opposed to the Truma 500w, at 10L is twice the capacity, has variable heat setting and keeps warm when turned off due to lots of insulation. Bad bits are it is fiddly to drain down, er and that's about it.
The Truma switch that John has posted is nice, just a shame it is not a Hymer factory fit no longer as they use a CBE sized rocker switch with blue led in the centre.

I couldn't use the 10 litre Propex Colin, the seatbox wasn't big enough, so I've got the 6 litre version. As we only use it for washing up and hand washing and have no shower, the lower capacity isn't really an issue. Funnily enough, from memory it's about as big as a Therme but the Therme has the big hole through the middle. You'd think that the Propex would be smaller without a hole in the middle, but maybe the extra insulation adds to its size.

I've just seen the price of that Truma switch. Almost £40 with delivery!!!! No wonder Hymer aren't using it anymore. Maybe a CBE with blue indicator is a more wallet friendly bet, though I've not found it via Google.
