Anyone towing with a VW T5. Experiences, mpg etc

Hi Ted,
we have a 2009 1.9 swb T5 and we tow a Triton 420 GT, perfect combination, it's a great towing vehicle in every aspect, as for mpg returns we've just got back from a weeks holiday in Devon and got 29 miles per gallon for a 735 mile trip. Also for us as we live on the Isle of Wight the overall length of T5 and Triton is 10 metres and at 2.2 metres high we get a resonable rate on the ferries, maybe of no interest to you but important for us. Hope this helps and if you want any other info let me know. As an aside with the T5, the mirrors allow you to see down both sides of the Triton.

We’ve towed a 78 triton with our 4motion180 dsg t5.1 - averaged around 29mpg. About 32mpg without towing.

Not towing, but our 2008 L2H3 Transit does around 35mpg on a motorway run and lightly loaded around home. Across country when loaded, about 32mpg.
