Water problem

We have a 1998 triton 430 with on board water tank. Until yesterday, all was working well. Today, although I can hear the pump working, I'm only getting the smallest trickle of water from both the bathroom and kitchen taps. Any ideas?

This has happened to us on occasions, Islay, and the cause has always been loose connections between the transparent plastic water pipe and the submersible pump or where the pipe passes through the container cap (upper and lower).

Over time, the plastic becomes stretched and loses its grip on the spigots. If you have sufficient pipe length, you could always cut a centimetre off and reattach the pipe on a fresh, unstretched end.

These are the three connections that I'm referring to:

You may also need to replace the clips/cable ties.

Hope this helps.

I have to hang my head with shame. There wasn't enough water in the tank. But the advice was very helpful for future use. I looked in the tank and
and saw water.......... Just not enough.

Easy mistake to make Islay, it's such an easy mistake I've made it too. Can't do hard mistakes, they're too difficult.

I have to admit I did think of asking if you had checked the water level (but then thought a teacher would obviously have checked that first); I would have expected some withering look/response as a result. However, having recently driven on to a ferry at Dover and after half an hour asked my wife where in Dover I had parked, I realised that even asking the simplest question may not be too bad and we are all subject to senior moments however young we are.....
