Health benefits of being an Eriba owner

I wonder if we all realise how good for our health it is camping in our Eribas.?

After having my new hip Kath bought me one of those Fit Bit thingys to measure how much exercise i was doing. i am having the other hip done soon and specialist thought I needed to be doing a bit more exercise.

Whilst at home I tried to be active and was averaging about 4000- 5000 steps a day. When I had done 10,000 it goes of with all sorts of graphics to say well done - I didn't see this very often.

Then we stayed at the C & M Club site at Penrhos on Angelsey for a week. I did the usual van things of walking to the toilet, then having a shower, then strolling to the camp shop, then emptying the rubbish, then getting more water for the tank, then going to wash up. During the day we went out to look at beaches and did a little walking, but nothing strenuous.

I was totally shocked that by the afternoon of every day I was getting these silly noises and vibrations on my wrist to celebrate the 10,000 steps. I would never have imagined that being in the Eriba on site would get me so active.

Is this why we all look so fit for our age when we use our Eribas on a regular basis? Good news. MikeT

PS The only thing is that my Fit Bit is sexist and ageist as my wife's Fit Bit gets it's fireworks at 8,000 steps!

As a new Eriba owner I have to agree with your observation. It is definitely not a lazy pursuit and the daily ‘chores’ force you to be more active. The fact the Eriba also makes such a good base from which to explore, cycle, walk etc adds to the pleasure of an outdoor lifestyle. I do tend to enjoy my wine back at the Eribaa after an active day so maybe I’m undoing some of the benefits but enjoying the process immensely.

While I applaud your healthier lifestyle, I think you are pushing it a bit to claim that it is exclusively an attribute of Eriba ownership.

Hi Aaron I am only claiming that a bit tongue in cheek - but it did shock me.

However I guess that we have less of the luxuries in our Eribas than in some of the more luxurious big white boxes that have everything piped inside the van. That probably makes us do things a bit more manually.

Plus at Penrhos we were a long way from the facilities block and shop.so we did walk a lot. it is amazing how heavy a bowl of washing up can be on a long stroll to the sinks. A washable "bag for life" might be a better way to carry them, as we saw someone do last week on a site in Aberdaron.. MikeT

Debbie makes sure her FitBit goes off by walking to the shops in town. She says it's essential to get her steps in but I wonder why the FitBit insists it has to be the shops. Hey-ho.

I think Mike is right. If we had wwb s then we wouldn't have to use the site facilities so we'd walk less😁😋

I agree, always manage my steps when away in the van.
