Oil Marks on pop top

OK people been searching through the threads on cleaning Pop Top Canvas but majority seem to be about external cleaning. Since we bought our Troll it's bugged my beloved about the oil marks on the inside of the canvas where the previous owner trapped the canvas in the pull down locks.
Has anyone any experience of cleaning oil marks from the canvas?
We have bought a pure soap liquid, flakes seem very hard to come by, but wondered if we need anything stronger for the oil.
I am not keen on attempting to remove the canvas for cleaning purposes
Thanks in advance

Seems we're all short of experience with this problem.

If it were my problem I'd dab on a little swafega(small area) brush this in with an old toothbrush, wipe off with a dry rag and then give it a shot(small area) of 1001 carpet cleaner again you might want to use a toothbrush. Let it dry off.

There are stronger chemicals but the use of them may only leave you with a different type of stain.

Cheers
Ian

I cleaned ours with a little vanish soap and water scrubbed with a toothbrush.
