Hi everyone,
My wife and I thought we would give the Eriba route a go, having tried camping etc.

Not quite sure what van we will need, looking at pre year 2000 - but it must have a toilet,

We have two schools of thought at the moment....

1 - Tow with our 2004 VW Beetle 1.9 tdi convertible manual box ( our preference ) or ...

2 - Tow with 2015 Honda CRV 1.6 diesel 2WD manual box.

Any thoughts - advice would be appreciated .

I am probably biased as you can see by my signature that we tow with a CRV.

I'd like to tow with my convertible but it's too light.

You need to consider the weight ratio between the car and the caravan for safe towing.

Hi Carol and John and welcome to Eribafolk.

By looking at a pre-2000 model you're doing yourselves a favour regarding towing as the majority of Trolls and Tritons have a max towing weight of 1000kg. If you're looking for something with a washroom then those are the models you should be looking at as well as a Pan/Familia 320 which are more difficult to find.

Thank you guys, We intend to visit the dealership in Bournemouth this weekend , as part of a trip to Southampton ... only to look and have a better understanding of these vans. They seem to have a good stock , albeit at sky high prices.

Automotive Leisure at Poole? I'm not sure if they've changed their policy now they are in new premises but they used to not accept visitors unless by appointment.
