Here you go now I hav'nt seen this elsewhere so here goes.
Some of us will just have pulled the old elastic out before tying the new to one end to pull it through, if you have done this, then this might help.
Cut a length of hosepipe about 15 inches long, feed one end of your elastic through and feed it back down the outside of the hosepipe, then just push the hosepipe through the sleeve for the elastic on the canvas and away you go.
