New Pucksters From Across the Pond & Cover Availability?

Another few quick questions about the Puck top & pop-top of the 1960s-70s -
Am I correct that they're Solid Fiberglass (GFRC)?
We're they painted over the GFRC, or is it a color coat of resin?
What is recommended to touch-up some surface chips on the FG?
I want to keep it original paint & FG, but only touch-up where necessary.
Any recommendations from the Puck experts on here?
TA,
Tom

Thank you for the pics. Absolutely gorgeous.
I love your table cloth - my mother had one very like it. And your gold water jug - I have the same one but mine is red. It also belonged to Mum so must be from the 60s because I remember it from my childhood.

Islay,
The credit for all of the 1950s & `60s Goodies goes to my wife, who has always collected that antique stuff!
We too both grew up in the 1950s-60s & grew up with it from our Moms!
So I guess we're just going full circle now, although neither of our families had anything as fancy as the Avion nor Puck. My family tent camped out of cars - the last being a 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Greenbriar 8-9 passenger van (80 HP Automatic), up until Dad got a new 1967 Chevvy C20 3/4 ton pick-up with camper special option & a used slide-in Bed camper with over-cab bed & dinette which officially only slept 4, but we squeezed in 8 of us! ... but no bathroom! Jana's family also tent camped out of cars with their 8, 2 + 6 kids like us, & only got a Ford Econoline Van Conversion after she was grown & gone.
So our 1988 Westfalia (T25) from new was a step up fro us as adults, with beds for 4 & our 2+2 kids, galley but no bathroom (except porta-potti) - & the Avion now hi high-styling, fully equipped "Glamping" for us in older years to spoil grandkids in - but I frankly still prefer being able to just throw some clothes & food into the Westy & go, without all the hitch-n-tow shenanigans! But I'm a guy, & Jana likes her comforts & conveniences of the Avion & Puck! ;-)
Cheers!
Tom

Hi All -
Well, it turns out that all of the UK made/sold Pro-tec, Automotive Leisure, Specialized Covers, & Kampa Eriba/Puck Caravan Covers are made from polypropylene materials - which are just not durable in the hotter & sunnier Mediterranean Climates over there, nor here in the USA Southwest & SoCal - even when UV stabilized. And note that Pro-tec voids their 3 year warranty for use anywhere outside of the UK, as may AL, SC & Kampa also.
I've never had even a "UV stabilized" polypropylene car cover last more than about a year before it starts falling apart from the sun/UV/ozone - so it makes no sense for anyone here in the USA to get a fitted Puck cover in the UK, as it would be money down the Loo!
I'm exploring other USA cover manufacturer options here in the USA, & may be able to take our 1970 Puck over to CoverKing a few miles away, where they can digitally scan the Puck, enter it into their Trailer Covers database, & then will be able to make any of their covers from that pattern.
FYI for types of CoverKing Covers - note bottom 2-3 top end ones, which I believe would also be available in their Trailer/Caravan & RV covers too:
https://www.coverking.com/view-custom-car-covers
The top level all weather covers from the major manufacturers here in the USA tend to have 4 & 5 year warranties, & those warranties are typically not voided outside of the USA as far as I know, but the shipping costs may be more.
I've had USA's Wolf, Covercraft & CoverKing covers reliably last for 5 - 8+ years here - with sun, UV, Ozone, rain, & Santa Ana winds of 70-100+ mph attempting to wear them out.
FYI - I will update this topic & the other "Fitted Winter Covers" topic with any USA options that I can find, which may be more durable than are those currently in the UK.
Cheers!
Tom
