Just joined eribafolk. Hello to all!
We recently bought a new Eriba Touring Troll 535 (from Jandi, West Lothian) which should arrive early March. First caravan purchase so very excited about our new Eriba life ahead of us, although nervous about being complete novices. Also just purchased a 3 year old Skoda Yeti 2L 4x4 so hopefully that will work out OK for towing our wee darling.
No doubt I will be posting lots of daft questions on the forum over the new few months which will demonstrate the true extent of our ignorance very well!
Currently looking at all the extras required to get started on our first holiday, and searching for dog (Westie) friendly adult only campsites...
Kind regards from Edinburgh,
Anne

Welcome to the forum Anne, you must be very excited about your new Eriba coming soon. You may well have a few teething problems with the van but that is fairly normal and I;'m sure you'll get them sorted OK.
One suggestion if you are new to caravans, grab a short two day break somewhere close to home to find out what you have forgotten to load up. You can read all the advice from really helpful people, especially this forum, but there is no substitute to going away and then find out for yourself.. If it's not too far from your home, you can always pop back to pick up a tin opener, corkscrew, toilet paper or whatever.

Many thanks for the very warm welcome and good advice!
Yes, we were planning on trying a few caravan sites down in Northumberland to start with (perhaps a few nights in each site so we can get a bit of practice towing and pitching up and all that goes with the set up). Its an area which we love, and so does our dog (a Westie), especially Ross Sands and the beaches around Bamburgh, and also Cheviot Hills and Kielder Forest area.
If anyone has any recommendations for good campsites anywhere in Northumberland we would be delighted to hear. We would be thinking about last week of March or April or May. Thought we would play it safe for the first few short trips away.

It may sound daft but I have found it is a good idea to have a checklist of things you have to do before setting off, or pitching up. Such as, Put the roof down, turn off the gas, release the handbrake, retract the mover, lock the door, etc. etc.. it can save an expensive mistake until it all comes naturally.
Hope you have a great spring.

Newbie? Oh yes, I signed up yesterday. After owning several campervans, I keep a VW California Beach as tow car & bought a 2017 Eriba Troll 540. It is about 40 years since I towed a small camping trailer but I’ll get some instruction, practice a bit, take a valium before heading off on a 1st trip - somewhere around Norfolk maybe. That 1st trip may be in March but I enjoy all year round camping. When I’m ready, I’ll drive it around Portugal & Spain. John
