Hi all We currently tow our 540GT with my 2 litre petrol 4WD Toyota Rav4 and although it tows the van well it is getting a little old (15 years) and long journeys can become a little uncomfortable due to it being a short wheelbase. We are thinking of putting a tow bar onto the wife's Qashqai as it considerably newer but note that whilst the Rav4 has a towing capacity of 1500Kg the Qashqai's limit is only 1200kg. I have calculated that the van weighs in at between 1100kg & 1150kg when we are towing which is within limits but wondered if anybody on here has any experience of towing with a Qashqa before we spend out shed loads of cash having a bar fitted.

Steve, have you looked on www.whattowcar.com to see how the Qashqai performs. The site also has the facility to compare one car with another for the same van. I used this facility a few months ago when considering swapping from a diesel Skoda Yeti to petrol Audi A3. I was surprised at the results. The Audi has now been ordered and the Skoda will be up for sale before end of the month.

Hi Colin - Yes have been on that site and they state that the QQ should perform OK. I just wondered if anyone on the forum had first hand experience of towing with one. Thanks for your input though, much appreciated.
