Ile de Re, France or Royan coastline - any recommended campsites?

Can anyone recommend a site on the Ile de Re please? Or, maybe along the Royan coast line.

We are travel in 2 classic VW's with a Puck in tow.

I am looking for a site for 4 adults that is not a 'Billy Basic' one but not one that is large and commercialised. I have in the past used this one - http://www.camping-puitsdelauture.com as recommended on here - it was great - so something along those lines.

Mods - please move this post if its in the wrong place. Many thanks.

Jules

Camping Au Port
Punay ****

Close to La Rochelle, used 4 times now and always good

Isle d Re, great for the cyclists but beware of the sandy pitches and getting bogged down, we used twice this year Sunelia, good facilities but small showers, we are 2.30 hours from there so ideal for us.

Good Luck

Cheaper and less snooty than Ile de rė is Olėron. We have stayed a couple of times at camping La Gautrelle. The showers are old but clean. The benefit being that it has a virtually private beach. Lovely. BUT we have only been last week in August. All these places will be buzzing high season.
My favourite thing is eating at the little roadside places where you get oysters, mussels.......everything tastes so good.
