Kampa weather protection strip

We have purchased a kampa pop air pro awning but haven’t had chance to try it on the caravan yet. We want to attach the weather strip to the caravan but it is about 20cm longer than the awning.
1. Do we need to cut it?
2. If so do we cut it to the same size as the awning?
3. If we don’t cut it does it matter that it goes past the water outlet holes?
Many thanks, Dianne

I have used both the Kampa and genuine Eriba strip. I cut them so they were longer than the awning cord but stopped short of the drain holes on the gutter.
Do not expect miracles form the strip, but it will reduce some of the wicking you get from any awning on an Eriba.
Another tip is to SOAK the awning cord with an awning/tent fabric water proofer.

Best of luck in fitting the strip. Uncoil it well in advance of fitting, do it on a warm day and have a hair drier to hand. PTFE spray will also be of use, along with a blunt eating knife to open up the groove.

Thanks for the info, didn’t realise when we ordered it that they were quite difficult to put on 😳. Wish us luck 😂🤣.

Most of the Kampa awning owners including me have given up with the weather protector and bought the seals direct version which is a dodde to fit

Well we managed to get the weather strip on but OMG what a performance!! Nearly ended up in the dustbin a few times 😳😬. Eventually a hairdryer and rubber mallet did the job 👍. Thanks for the info.

We have just purchased a Kampa pop air awning at the caravan show, for our Triton. We didn't get the weather protector but would like to know what the problem is that requires one. Is it that the gutter fills and overflows causing a water buildup on the top of the canvas?

Will probably get some of the seals direct version at some stage.
