Thetford toilet ventilation filter

This might be of interest for anyone with these.
Rather than buy an expensive filter each time and add further to plastic pollution we have bought some activated charcoal pellets (2kg for a tenner) and are just refilling our existing filter.
Its the same stuff so should work fine.

Great tip.. I had a 2012 Familia with the electric fan and charcoal filter,. The Thetford swivel toilet C260 in the 2012 was the only Eriba to have the electric fan. However there should also have been an external vent kit fitted to the bottom of the floor to expel the fumes, create an air flow and avoid the fan motor from burning out. Unfortunately Hymer omitted to fit it , my Familias subframe was directly in line where the vent should have gone so couldn't retrospectively fit one. To avoid the motor burning out I removed the foam seal that sits on the floor, this allowed the air to circulate from the fan and prolongs the life of the motor, there was no smells as the charcoal filter had already scrubbed it..
