530 bed poles

When we had a Troll 530 we found, as did some others, that the poles which supported the bed bent badly out of shape. After having the same problem with new ones supplied by AL, a kind forum member sent us two steel poles. Wooden dowels have been fitted inside and ferules added to the ends. A bit heavy but very unlikely to bend. Now we have a 540 we don’t need them, so if anyone wants them please let me know. I could bring them to the Summer meet. Otherwise they will have to go to the tip as we are trying to clear our garage.P6040015.JPG - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

Hi, we've just got back from the Summer meet and we live in East Anglia. I've just checked Hermes and carriage would cost about £7.00 (that's with a signature at your end. If you are interested it would probably be easier if you arranged carriage and cost. Let me know and I'll send you our address, etc. (package will weigh 3.1K and will be just over 118 cm long). If you want me to arrange carriage then you will have to send me your name and address, post code and e-mail. I guess you could pay for the carriage by Paypal .

Let me know - send me a P.M. with any necessary details,

Magpie

As I haven't heard anything I take it the poles are not needed. Anyone else interested before they are finally thrown out? (Clearing the garage).

Don't throw them out. replace those useless poles in your wardrobe or coat cupboard with them.
I bought a load of 6.4m lengths of 3/4" internal bore [about 1 1/8" outside diameter] galvanised gas barrel for woodwork clamps. the remaining pieces I used as bed poles on my Familia and wardrobe/coat cupboard poles. They do NOT bend.

I wish I'd have taken them now. I don't know what the Eriba supplied poles are made of but they make grey marks on the fabric under the seat. Presumably steel ones wouldn't?

Aluminium is I believe the culprit regarding the grey marks.
