I have just received my renewal notice from Cover 4 Caravans and a reasonable price for a 30 year old van. My query is this.. I accept that when the van is not connected to the towing vehicle. it must be wheel clamped and a tow hitch lock fitted. However, I cannot understand why it says " Cover is subject to the caravan being fitted with a wheel clamp when left unattended while attached to the vehicle " Surely that's not right and it should have both fitted ? I have always fitted the hitch lock when stopping during towing. So now i have to keep the wheel clamp handy as well !!

Could be because a lot of hitchlocks can only be attached once the van is unhitched from the towing vehicle. The made by AKS and Winterhoff specific hitchlocks are a different matter as these can be fitted whilst the car is attached to the van.
