Gas cover for my 87 Troll flew off while driving

I swear i locked it down but it is easy to think it has caught but it is not actually attached at the lock part.
While driving to Cornwall today it disappeared!
Does anyone know the best place to get replacement or replica cover. Annoyingly I am going to need the lock part too.

many thanks

Yeah I saw their replica price for the whole unit!
I might contact them and see if they will sell me just the door and latch.

Oh no! The same thing just happened with our 86 Puck! Well gutted. How did you get on, we've got to do the same now?

Don't even know how to patch this up really, feel a bit useless!
If you need a door you might find one on the A1 southbound. Thank god no one was hit by it.

This is something I have just thought of....it only needs to go on whilst travelling. There is very little pull on the fridge vent..just enough to hold the bungee close to the locker door.. 0CB966C2-6C47-4287-A36F-6763EEEF6249.jpeg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

koolclassics.com have a replica but at 285 plus 35 delivery and it is in white so would want to paint it which seems an expensive pain. Not heard back from jandi will try them again.

I covered my gas bottle with a binliner and bungeed it on it looks pretty sad but it will do for the minute as i am back from travels now.

I will update you if i have luck

i like the extra bungee while travelling idea. The annoying thing with the older ones is that the lock turns on the wrong side easily and looks locked. If you pull the cover to check it and then unlock and relock on the right side it is very reliable at staying on! i just forgot the pull test ;)

Yeh exactly same here. Bin liners until worked out what to do with it. Like you it's only the lid. There must be someone who can manufacture a bit of preformed plastic. If not were gonna have to swallow the £300+.
Happy travels!

well the ol 300 replica is starting to look more reasonable. Just got this from Jean at jandi:

"The earliest gas locker cover available is the silver one introduced in 1995. This can be fitted to older models but can need some alteration as the bottom of the gas locker cover was changed to accommodate a change in the draw pole and I’m afraid I don’t know when exactly that change occurred. Having said that, people have managed to trim the bottom and fit the later cover. Also, you would have to buy a lock, barrel and key as the key system used in 1995 was a different one from that used in the 1980s.

Assuming the exchange rate doesn’t improve the gas locker works out at £556 + V.A.T.. You would also need a lock, lock barrel and key - ball park £90 + V.A.T"

Best part of 800 quid. and it will need adapting and painting.

a simple pull check that's all it needed ;)

you could easily rivet a bit of webbing on a snap release buckle to either side for transit

Sorry to say but Koolclassics.com no longer have the gas boxes in. We are looking to get a new manufacturer.
