Just replaced the awning rail Herzim strip on our 07 Triton and I was surprised how loose some of the screws that fasten the awning rail to the van were. A fair few needed a couple of turns to tighten up properly especially on the awning side and it made me think that in windy weather when your awnings up bad things could happen! So if you use an awning regularly and have an older van this is something that needs to be checked periodically even if you have to replace the Herzim strip each time Lesson learned.

For no apparent reason, for we've not had cause to use it for a number of years, we noticed that the footman's loop fixed to the centre of our awning rail was very loose and was likely to cause water ingress through the screw holes.

We've just done the same, top and bottom + round the door hatches and gas locker, [John E did the middle rail in March] surprised at how many needed a couple of turns to tighten. Dave
