Seriously though, welcome back Rob and Alison. 
The rule that Tom has mentioned has been with us since the forum started and it is with good reason that we have to terminate membership for folk who have not visited the forum for some time. See this thread:-

I know that folk who visit us are so excited and amazed by the content of the forum that they often miss the boring notes etc 
When visiting the forum you don't need to post anything. Just by logging in the system will pick up on your visit and a visit date will go against your profile.
