"Hard" wheels for winter storage.

I have heard of them before but have never been able to find them advertised. Perhaps the term "hard" is incorrect.

Not that I'm interested in a pair but I came upon this on a French Eriba Group on Facebook.

The lady who posted the pic was asking if these "Puck" Hard Wheels would fit her Familia as she wishes to lower the van height, presumably to push it into a garage lacking headroom.

Incidently, one person replied and said that he used Polo or Golf Mark II brake discs.

Don't know about "hard" wheels, they look like brake drums to me !

I'd have thought the pcd on the wheels of Puck and Familia differ.
Other thought is imagine the pressure through the contact point with floor if using brake disc. possibly 900kg on the area of 1/2 a postage stamp. If you got your foot in the way of that you could throw away 1/2 of your shoes.

You could of course get a couple of cheap wheels with your old tyres just for winter storage, and keep the good ones for when the caravan is in use. Handy if you need to move it around during the winter.
