I have just joined today after we bought our 320 last year. We have had three trips so far, the last one being at Christmas and are so looking forward to using it again as soon as we are able this year. Any tips on USB charging for phones when not hooked up to the mains?

If you do not want to tap into the existing 12v circuit, then attach two tabs to the battery terminals. Off both of these put an in-line fuse, and then run to a CBE socket or similar with usb outlets. https://clearcutconversions.co.uk/product/cbe-double-usb/
I used this set-up to provide a feed to an underbed locker light, tv power outlet and fridge fans power.

Welcome to the site Andrew - soz can't help as Kath just "cheats" and uses the car to charge her phone if we are not plugged in on site.

I tried my car to charge the phone until I found that, on mine, the usb turns off after a few minutes without the ignition on.

It's a shame Eriba don't provide 12v sockets in the van, or do they? I haven't seen any in my 2016 Troll. I've thought about trying to install a 12v usb socket but don't fancy fishing around for the cables to my lights? Not that we really go 'off grid' but after covid relaxations we may need to distance ourselves, in a nice way, to get any use from our van?

When Kath charges when we are on grid onsite she uses a three pin plug with a USB port on it. In fact we usually take a couple so that I can charge my MP3/Kindle usually overnight. They're easy to get these days

A number of people on the Forum have DIY'd a USB connection on existing plugs.

Cheers

Threeberries...we have 2 x 12v sockets in our van. They are at either end of the van on the strip lights. Switch one end and socket at the other.

Thanks for all the advice. i think I will have a look at tapping into the light circuit as there does not seem to be an unused circuit available on the elektroblok.
